John Leguizamo continues to garner a lot of success. The multifaceted, gifted actor, producer and director was at the most recent Cannes Lions festival after participating on Almost Identical, a production directed by Diego & Vladi, directors from Epic Nerds, a production company founded by Leguizamo which is also represented in the Latino ad market in the USA by the renowned agency Kontakto.“The Golden Lion we won was a very important achievement for me, both professionally and personally. It felt great to get recognized for a life-saving film. There should be more movies sending out this kind of message. Maybe some percentage of the media budget of every brand should be allocated to this,” he added.To Leguizamo, the expectations about this job were met. The audience feedback has let him know the message was received and as a director, he made his dream come true. “It was a great to finish the film and make real the vision I had in mind for this concept. I look forward to making films like this for quite a while,” he said.As a director, he has also received favorable, encouraging comments. “Speaking with the critics and being able to explain my process in further detail has been a great experience. They have discussed my directing tone and actor synchronization challenges. It was a very delicate balance, which eventually paid off,” he summed up.
